Huckabee hearts theocracy

Via Tapped:

“I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution,” Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. “But I believe it’s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that’s what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards so it lines up with some contemporary view.”

I guess that means I can count on all of my shirts being 100% cotton in Mike Huckabee’s America.

For more hilarious Huckabee moments, head over to Michael Crawford’s place.

Cotton is the fabric of our lives. I guess its the fabric of pro-life? Wow that was corny…. Check this out at Pandagon and observe the wingnut responses. I think the one that recognizes this single quote could sink his campaign is dead on (one can hope at least).

We need to spread this quote far and wide. Huckabee seems to be doing what it takes to sink his campaign, but there’s no reason we shouldn’t lend a hand.

I almost hope he wins the Republican nomination. Perhaps it would scare the party into dropping the evangelical base. That is of course only assuming he would lose the general election, something i’m not totally convinced of. The country did election George Bush twice afterall.
