Gah, too late!
I wish I would have mentioned my Republican VP predictions on this blog, since I so called it:
US News and World Report has information that McCain is likely to pick Huckabee for the vice presidency.
It’s the perfect choice; if McCain is to have any hope at winning this election, he needs to shore up his base. Which means appealing to the money men – the fiscal conservatives – but more importantly, appealing to the grassroots, conservative evangelicals. Huckabee emerged as the “evangelical candidate” after Iowa, and has the loyal support of many conservative evangelicals. A McCain-Huckabee ticket would – more so than an Obama-Clinton I think – be a unity ticket. And, as an added bonus, it is probably the strongest ticket the Republicans can field at this point.
I still think the GOP is looking at a complete wipe out this November, but a McCain-Huckabee might be strong enough to turn this into merely a category 4 disaster.

I disagree. I think Huckabee would be the worst possible pick.
Really? How come?
Sigh … I hope Mike stays far away from this run. I do wonder, though …
