I see dead people

Rep. Paul Broun is convinced that the public option, like some mysterious specter from a horror movie, will kill people (via ThinkProgress):

If there’s anything I really like that is really depressing about the health care debate, its that the “other side” refuses to even acknowledge the fact that of the nearly 50 million Americans don’t have health insurance, 18,000 die each year because of it.  Even if the public option isn’t as great as private insurance, I’m not really sure what we’re losing.
